The tow truck driver laughed at my neighbor's 2-space angled job, but is he right that it's safer than curb hugging?
Saw a guy in a lifted F-150 take up two diagonal spots at the Walmart on Route 9 last Friday, perfectly straddling the line with his front wheels turned, and when I called him out he said tight lots cause more door dings than double parking, so which is actually the bigger jerk move, the space hog or the guy who parks six inches from your door?

Nah dude's got a point, tight spots are death for doors, but two spaces is still asking for a mirror tap.

Guessing my neighbor's minivan has more door dings than a bowling alley, so I might be biased. But yeah, the F-150 guy is sort of right about tight lots, yet taking two spots just moves the problem to someone else. My own car looks like it went through a demoliton derby from people who can't open doors carefully. Honestly, I'd rather park far away and walk ten minutes than deal with either jerk. The real move is finding that empty corner spot, even if it means hiking past the cart corral. Both options are annoying, but at least the curb hugger isn't blocking two whole spaces.
