Update: a guy at the Piggly Wiggly in Mobile backed into my cart and blamed the cart
So I'm walking out with my groceries at the Piggly Wiggly on Azalea Road in Mobile, and this fella in a silver Tahoe backs right into my cart, pins it against a bollard. He gets out, looks at the cart, and says "that thing was in my blind spot." The cart was in a cart corral. I pointed at the corral and he just shrugged and drove off, and honestly watching him try to squeeze out of that spot was the best part of my whole week. Has anyone else had a parking lot run-in where the other person blamed an inanimate object?
Did the cart at least have insurance? Because if a shopping cart is in a corral and a Tahoe still finds it, that says way more about the driver than the cart. My own track record in parking lots is not great, so I can't laugh too hard. I once clipped a pole that was very clearly painted bright yellow and then stood there staring at it like the pole had moved. The cart corral is basically a painted box on the ground, so blaming the cart is a new level of not taking the blame. That slow squeeze out of the spot does sound like a nice little bonus show though.
