Told my roommate it was either the dishes or the trash, and he picked neither for 9 days
So my roommate Kyle and I had this standoff over chores that lasted 9 whole days. I told him straight up he could either wash his pile of crusty dishes or take out the overflowing trash, his pick, and I'd do the other one. He said "cool, I'll handle it" and then just did nothing at all. By day 5 the kitchen smelled like a dumpster and I started eating out every meal, which cost me about $70 that I did not plan for. I finally caved on day 9 and did both jobs myself while he sat there playing games like nothing happened. I'm honestly done being the only adult in this place. Has anyone actually gotten a lazy roommate to change, or do I just need to move out?
