My chocolate cake for a birthday party in Denver turned into a total puddle, so I just called it a 'chocolate pudding cake' and served it with spoons.

Quick save with the spoons. That's the kind of kitchen improv we need more of. My aunt's famous cake once did the same thing at a family reunion. We just scooped it into bowls and called it a new dessert. The birthday kid probably loved it even more that way.
