My sister told me to always add a pinch of salt to my buttercream, and she was right
I skipped it once and the frosting tasted flat and overly sweet. Has anyone else had a simple tip completely save a recipe?

Yeah, that "flat and overly sweet" thing is exactly what happens without salt. It's wild how such a tiny step makes the whole flavor pop. I tried the coffee trick @shane_fisher37 mentioned once when I was stuck with a bad bag of beans, and it actually worked. Makes you wonder what other little fixes are out there for basic recipes.

Seriously, salt in coffee too.

Actually, a tiny pinch of salt in coffee is a legit trick. It cuts the bitterness without making it taste salty. Some people do it with cheap coffee that tastes too harsh. It's not for everyone, but it's a real thing.
