Man, good bosses who do that are the best. My attempt at a lemon drizzle cake once came out looking like a sad yellow brick. It was so dense. My manager still took a slice, chewed it thoughtfully, and suggested I try a different type of flour next time (cake flour, apparently). That kind of helpful, non mean feedback actually makes you want to try again.

Last year, my friend's boss tried her burnt cookies and suggested parchment paper. That's just basic help, not some amazing boss move. Bosses should give useful feedback without being mean, it's part of the job. It's like a coach pointing out a simple mistake in practice. Making a big deal out of normal advice feels like we're praising low standards. They're just doing what they're supposed to do.

Yeah, but let's be real, most bosses wouldn't even taste the burnt cookies.
