The moment I figured out why my pie crusts were always tough was when my grandma watched me mix the dough

She pointed out I was using ice water from the fridge instead of ice cubes sitting in water for 10 minutes, and now I actually get flaky layers instead of hockey pucks so has anyone else had a relative call them out on a decades old bad habit?

Grandma's always running a culinary FBI investigation on us.

Three cups of perfectly measured flour and a suspicious squint at my store-bought pie crust last Thanksgiving though lol. @susanm56 I get the joke, but I honestly love that grandma cares enough to inspect the garlic content in my pasta sauce. She's the reason I finally learned how to properly caramelize onions without burning them into charcoal.

Wait, your grandma actually inspects the garlic content in your pasta sauce?
