A kid in my chair yesterday asked if I ever get tired of cutting hair

He was maybe 10, getting a back-to-school cut at my shop in Fresno. I told him sometimes, but then you get a regular who tells you his haircut got him a job. The kid said, 'So you're like a good luck charm.' It was a simple thing, but it stuck with me. Made me think about how we see our own work. What's the nicest thing a client has ever said to you guys?

My old record store was like that for me too. I'd hide in the back room just to get a break from the noise. Honestly, the customers probably thought the quiet was part of the vibe, not just me being too tired to talk. It's nice when your mess accidentally makes a calm spot for someone.
