I finally hit 500 straight skin fades without a single nick
Been tracking my work for about 6 months now because I wanted to see where my weak spots were. 500 straight is a number I never thought I'd hit honestly. It mattered because that's how I knew my blade angle and pressure were finally consistent. I used to nick at least one client out of every 20 on the back of the neck. Now I'm zero for the last 500 and the regulars are actually asking me to teach them. How long did it take you guys to feel like you had full control over your clipper work?

Wild how @the_jordan nailed it - 500 clean fades means your muscle memory finally beat your brain's doubts.

Man, 500 is wild! But hey I gotta say something about what @elliot_taylor mentioned. It's not really about muscle memory beating your doubts - it's more like your doubts just get quieter the more you do it. Muscle memory is real but the head game is still there every time you pick up the clippers. @elliot_taylor probably knows that feeling too where you're on client 498 and you're thinking "don't mess this up now." So how long before you stopped second-guessing your blade work?
