Just found out most barbers charge way less than they should

Was reading through some industry stats last night from the Professional Barber Association and apparently the average price for a mens haircut in the US is still under $30. I've been charging $45 for the last two years and thought I was pushing it. But with rent, product, and time per cut, $30 barely covers overhead. How are you guys setting your prices?

Yeah I bumped mine to $40 and actually got more clients weirdly enough.

Is it really that serious though? I mean yeah, sometimes raising your price can signal quality, but I feel like that's a very specific situation. In my experience, you can't just bump it up and expect more clients unless everything else is lined up perfectly. Maybe your market was just right for it, or your page looked way better than before. I'd take that with a grain of salt unless you're in a really niche industry where people actually judge by price.

Wait, you jumped from what to $40? That's a pretty big leap. I'm shocked that didn't scare people off rather than bring them in.
