My clippers died mid-haircut last Saturday morning

I was halfway through a skin fade on a regular customer when my old Wahl Magic Clip just stopped spinning. No warning, no smoke, just dead. I had to finish the cut with my backup trimmer and a straight razor, then run to the supply house for a new pair. Has anyone found a clipper that holds up better than these newer Wahl models?

Oh man, "just stopped spinning" is the absolute worst feeling when you're in the middle of a cut. Nothing like that sudden dead silence to ruin your whole morning and make you scramble. I feel your pain on having to finish with backups, that's always a stressful way to keep a client happy.

You really think losing power mid-fade is that big of a deal? I mean, it's annoying sure, but you had backups and handled it fine.
