Serious question, a guy asked me to cut his hair to look older for a job

He's young but needs to appear more mature for an interview. I styled it to add years but feel weird about changing his look for a lie. Would you have done the same thing?

Adjusting your look for a job interview is pretty normal, not really a lie. People dress and groom to show they're serious about the role. It's just part of putting your best foot forward for the chance.

My old boss used to say dress for the job you want, but I thought that was ONLY for clothes. After reading @sean_cooper's point, I get that grooming is part of showing you're SERIOUS. It's not a lie, it's just preparing for the role.

Seriously though, how much does a haircut really prove?
