Shoutout to the barber in Phoenix who mentioned using a bit of hairspray on clipper blades
I was cleaning my clippers last week and gave it a shot, just a quick spritz on the moving parts after oiling. The next cut felt smoother and the blades stayed cool for my whole three hour block of appointments. It seems to help the oil spread better and maybe adds a tiny bit of extra glide. I've done it for five cuts now and I'm really liking the result. Has anyone else tested something like this, or is there a reason I shouldn't keep doing it?

Hold up, you're doing three hour blocks of appointments? My back hurts just thinking about that. The hairspray trick sounds wild but if it kept the blades cool that long, maybe that Phoenix guy is onto something. I'd just worry about the sticky buildup over time, you know?

Consider the fire risk, joseph_ellis85. That hairspray is basically aerosolized glue and propellant, spraying it near a hot motor seems like asking for trouble. The sticky gunk would be a nightmare, but I'd be more worried about a spark catching that cloud.

Terry's got a point about the fire risk, honestly.
