Spent 20 minutes arguing with a client about fade lines at my shop in Austin
I had a guy sit down last Tuesday and he kept pointing at a line he swore was there on the back of his head. I looked at it from every angle, even wiped the mirror down just to be sure, and there was nothing there. This went on for a solid 20 minutes before I just offered to re-hit the section with a zero guard just to make him happy. Now I'm wondering if I should just start taking a photo of the finished cut with the client present before they even get up from the chair. Has anyone else dealt with a client seeing things that aren't there in the mirror?

Have you tried snapping a quick pic on your phone before they even get up? It's wild how some people stare at their own head for so long they start seeing ghost lines. I've had clients do this at my gym with muscle imbalances too, like they'll point at a spot no one else can see. Your photo idea is smart since it just gives them actual proof instead of letting them argue with the mirror. At least then you can say "here's the evidence" and move on.

Does the photo actually help though... or do they just find a new angle to argue about? I've seen people stare at their phone pic and still insist there's a ghost line they can feel. Sometimes you just gotta let them believe what they want honestly.

Sometimes you just gotta let them believe what they want" hits hard honestly. ive had people at my gym swear they can feel a knot in a spot that doesnt even have muscle tissue. you could show them a 4k video of themselves and theyd still argue the camera angle is wrong. at some point you gotta just nod and move on to the next set.
