Spent 45 minutes trying to fade a bald spot I created myself
So I was working on a client yesterday, nice guy, regular of mine at the shop in Denver. I got a little too confident with the trimmer and accidentally skimmed a small patch on the back of his head. Nothing huge, but once you see it you can't unsee it. I spent what felt like an eternity trying to blend that tiny spot into the fade using different guard sizes and techniques. Turns out I was just making it worse by messing with it so much. I finally just let it dry, hit it with some texture powder, and you could barely even notice. The whole ordeal took about 45 minutes when it should have been a 5 minute fix. Has anyone else dug themselves into a hole like this and just kept digging instead of stepping back?

Hang on a second, is this really that big of a deal? I mean, texture powder fixed it, client was happy, and you moved on. Sounds like you're beating yourself up over something that literally nobody else would ever notice unless you pointed it out to them. We all have those moments where we overthink a tiny mistake and turn it into a huge project for no reason. Sometimes the best thing you can do is just leave it alone and let the person see it in the mirror later.

Learned that the hard way with a paint color mismatch once.

Wait, you actually used texture powder instead of just starting over?
