TIL those expensive "barber-specific" clipper blades are a total waste...

Spent $60 on a set of ceramic blades made for barbers. Thought they'd last forever like everyone says. First drop off my station - about 3 feet onto tile - and they shattered. My old $15 Wahl steel blades took worse falls for 2 years and just kept going. Anyone else find ceramic blades way too fragile to be worth the hype?

Blew my buddy's mind when he bought a set of those fancy ceramic blades for his home setup. He was so stoked, said they cut like butter through arm hair. But then his cat knocked them off the nightstand, just onto carpet, and the blade cracked right down the middle. The thing was basically dead after one little tumble. Meanwhile his old Wahl steel blades have been tossed around, dropped in the sink, even survived a trip through the washing machine and still work fine. He just went back to buying the cheap steel ones and says he'll never waste money on ceramic again.

Honestly I used to be all about ceramic blades, thought they were the future. But hearing that story makes me rethink it. How often do you really need that razor sharp edge if it can't even take a simple drop?

Wait, so they can't survive a 3 foot drop or a cat looking at them wrong but they cost 4 times as much? Sounds like paying extra for the privilege of being scared to breathe near your own tools.
