Vent: I thought those fancy Japanese thinning shears were just a gimmick

My buddy at the shop in Riverside swore by them for over a year, but I kept using my regular texturizers. Then I tried his on a client with super thick, wavy hair that always turned out bulky. The difference was crazy... it just melted through the bulk without leaving any lines. I had to eat my words and order a pair that same night. Anyone have a brand they really like, or are they all pretty much the same?

Yeah, it's wild how the right tool just clicks. I had the same kind of moment with a stupidly expensive paint sprayer. My cousin, who flips houses, kept bugging me to try it, and I fought him on it for months because my roller worked fine. Finally used it on a big, plain wall and... the finish was just perfect, no streaks, done in a quarter of the time. Made my old method feel like using a rock. Sometimes you just have to see it for yourself.

The real cost is in the cleanup though, which they never show in the ads.
