Walk-in rate vs appointment only, I picked wrong for 2 months straight
Back in March I decided to ditch the booking app and go strictly walk-in at my shop in Columbus. Thought it'd be simpler, more old school, you know. First two weeks were fine, but by the third week I had guys waiting 45 minutes while I was juggling three heads at once. One regular, Mike, straight up told me 'I don't got time to sit around like this' and he hasn't come back since. I switched back to a hybrid setup last month, appointments for Fridays and Saturdays, walk-ins the rest of the week. That balance is working way better, but I'm still kicking myself for losing Mike over a dumb experiment. Has anyone else tried going full walk-in and had it backfire, or do you run a system that handles both without the chaos?
