Found out my $8 thrift store mixer is worth $200 on eBay
Picked up a KitchenAid K5SS at a garage sale in Akron last weekend for $8. Looked beat up but after cleaning it and checking the serial, it's a 1970s model that collectors go nuts for. Turns out the older ones have metal gears instead of plastic, so they last forever. Anyone else ever flip a bargain find that turned out way more valuable than you thought?

How much elbow grease did it take to clean that thing up?

Idk man, that particular job probably took a whole afternoon with lots of scrubbing and solvent, but a good degreaser cuts the work in half every time. For real though, @jordan_webb, you need to let the stuff soak before you start scrubbing or you're just moving grease around.
