Garage sale in Portland taught me to always check inside boxes before buying
I picked up a box of old kitchen stuff for $5 at a garage sale last Saturday. When I got home and opened it, there was a 1950s Pyrex mixing bowl set worth about $80 hidden under some towels. Now I always open every box or container to check for extras before I hand over cash. Anyone else find hidden treasures inside other items they bought?

Always check inside boxes before buying" man I learned that one the hard way too. Bought a box of old books for $2 and found nothing but spiders and a half eaten granola bar from 1998.

That was 1999 actually... and I think @the_derek was the one who found it then sold it on eBay as "vintage pre-Y2K snack.
