My $7 flea market ladder was fine until it wasn't, now I keep one eye on my ceiling
Picked up a step ladder at the Rose Bowl swap meet for $7, figured the tiny crack was cosmetic, then it folded like tinfoil while I was changing a light bulb last Tuesday. How do you guys spot the difference between a thrift store tool that's worth saving and one that's just waiting to drop you on your back?

Yeah... after that, I test ladders by just staring at them now.
