My neighbor dragged me to an estate sale in Tacoma and the $2 box of junk had a 1950s Pyrex in it
I almost skipped it too because who wants to dig through someone's old kitchen stuff on a Saturday morning. My neighbor Deb has been hitting estate sales for years and she always says the same thing, get there in the first hour or don't bother at all. So we showed up at 8am to this little house in Tacoma and the place was already picked over in the front rooms. Deb pointed me to the garage where there was a cardboard box marked $2 for everything inside. I figured it was just mismatched lids and rusty muffin tins but I dug around anyway and pulled out a mixing bowl with the old blue snowflake pattern on it. I looked it up on my phone right there and these things go for $40 to $80 online depending on the size. Deb just shrugged like it was nothing and kept looking at a set of old garden tools. I still have that bowl on my shelf and I use it for pancake batter every weekend. What's the best thing anyone here has pulled out of a cheap mystery box?
