My uncle swore I should never pay more than $5 for a cast iron skillet at a flea market, and now I'm torn on who's right | Bargain Board Finds - Chatter Central
The $5 rule is solid advice but I once paid $40 for a rusty skillet at a "vintage" shop because it had a cool handle, so clearly I'm not the guy to ask. Mine sat in my garage for a year before I even cleaned it. With bacon grease in it now it works fine but my uncle would probably disown me. Your uncle is right on price, just don't be like me and get excited over a pretty handle.
