Snagged a 1970s Pendleton blanket for $12 at a church rummage sale last Saturday

It's got a tiny moth hole near the edge but I already patched it with some matching yarn. Anyone else ever get lucky finding vintage wool and have a go-to way to clean it without ruining it?

Yo, seriously? A tiny moth hole and you're already freaking out about cleaning it? It's a wool blanket, not some ancient artifact that'll dissolve if you look at it wrong. Just hand wash it in cold water with a little Woolite or baby shampoo, lay it flat to dry, and you're good. People overcomplicate vintage wool way too much. It survived 50 years of who knows what before you found it - it can handle a gentle wash.

Honestly, "crossing my fingers and hoping for the best" is my go-to strategy for everything from laundry to unclogging a toilet, so I respect the hustle. But yeah, tbh the_hayden's right, it's not rocket science. I've thrown mine in a cold bath with a squirt of Dr. Bronner's, let it soak for 20 minutes, then rolled it up in towels to squeeze out the water. It's way easier than trying to patch a hole that's twice as big because you freaked out and used hot water.
