That wooden dresser I got for $40 cleaned up way faster than I thought
Picked up a solid oak dresser at a garage sale in Tacoma last Saturday for $40. The top was covered in paint drips and some water rings, so I figured it would take a whole weekend. Got out the heat gun and scraper, and the paint came off in big strips after about 20 minutes of work. Sanded the top light with 120 grit and hit it with some danish oil. The grain came out looking like it came from a furniture store, not a curb. Anyone else had luck stripping painted furniture that actually turned out to be a hidden gem underneath?
