The seller who argued me out of buying her bargain
Last Saturday at the Maplewood flea market, I spotted a vintage record player for $15 and reached for it. The woman running the booth stopped me and said, "Honey, that one eats tapes, not plays them." She showed me the stripped belt and a cracked lid, then pointed me to a working model for $40 that she'd priced higher on purpose. It stuck with me because most vendors just want the sale done, but she lost $15 to keep me honest. Has anyone else had a seller talk them out of a deal, and did you trust them later?
