Wasted 2 years of Saturday mornings at estate sales skipping the garage, now that's where the money is
For about two years I hit every estate sale in a 30 mile radius and went straight for the house. Clean stuff, easy to see, priced by someone who looked up eBay comps. Then last spring I rolled up late to a sale in Mesa and the house was already picked clean, so I wandered into the garage out of spite. Found a full set of Craftsman wrenches, a bench vise, and a box of old hand planes for $40 total. The guy running it said nobody ever goes back there. Now I walk straight past the china cabinet and head for the garage or the shed every single time. I've pulled a working table saw for $25 and a boat motor I flipped for $180 off garage floors since then. Are you guys hitting the outbuildings first or am I just late to something everyone already knew?
