Appreciation post for the janitor at the library who saved my notes

Had a study session at the downtown library last Tuesday and spilled my coffee all over a notebook. The janitor, Greg, came by with a roll of paper towels and told me to blot it fast, not rub. He even grabbed a fan from the back and set it up on my table. Does anyone else keep a backup system for important stuff after something like this happens?

Honestly, why do we always learn this lesson the hard way? I had a coffee incident back in college and lost a whole week of lecture notes. Now I take pics with my phone right after I write anything important. Greg's a legend for the fan trick though, that's next level kindness.

Blot it fast, not rub is literally the best advice ever, Greg's a real one. For me, I started keeping a spare notebook in my bag that's literally just a cheap spiral one with a plastic cover, and I scan my notes with Adobe Scan right after I finish a page. My phone's always on me so I lose a physical copy, yeah it sucks, but at least I got the digital one. Also, coffee proof your main notebook with one of those plastic binder covers that slide over it, honestly saved me more than once. Greg really came through though, respect that man.

A buddy of mine @diana_black learned that the hard way too. Coffee and notebooks don't mix.
