Fell for a $40 'smart' water bottle that tracks your sips

Bought one of those fancy HidrateSpark bottles that lights up when you need to drink, but the app stopped syncing after three days and now it's just a regular bottle I paid too much for. Anyone else get suckered by tech that looks cooler than it works?

Forty bucks for a water bottle that lights up? Man, that stings. I dropped thirty on a "smart" mug once that was supposed to keep my coffee at the perfect temp. Worked great for a week, then the battery died and the app wouldn't even recognize it. Now it's just a heavy, overpriced thermos that leaks if you tip it sideways. At least yours still holds water, mine just makes a mess.

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the app? That fixed mine when it stopped syncing after the first week.

Wait, did you buy the same smart mug I'm thinking of? The one with the temperature sensor in the bottom that had crazy battery drain after a few months? lol. I went through two of those before I gave up, kept thinking it was just a bad batch. But your leaky experience sounds worse than mine. Did the app ever give you a real error message when the battery died, or did it just go silent? I'm curious if that brand ever pushed an update to fix the phantom battery drain or if they just abandoned it. This whole smart bottle/mug market feels like gambling on random hardware these days.
