Found out the hard way why you don't trust public restroom air dryers

I was at a gas station off I-75 near Macon last Tuesday and used the hand dryer because the paper towel dispenser was empty. About 30 seconds in, the thing started blowing out this weird hot greasy air that smelled like burned bacon. I pulled my hands away and there was this brownish mist coming out of the vent. I just wiped my hands on my jeans and left. Has anyone else seen these things blowing out nasty stuff or was that just a one time thing?

Did you check if it was blowing out of the vent or from inside the wall?
