Used to buy the fancy dishwasher pods, now I'm team powder
For years I was dropping $20 a month on those Cascade Platinum packs because I thought they were the only thing that worked. Last spring I ran out and grabbed a box of the cheap Cascade powder for $8 and honestly my dishes are just as clean. Anyone else made the switch and stuck with it?

Rinse the powder in the prewash cup on the door too, that's the secret most people miss. I started doing that and my glasses came out spotless with no film or spots at all, even the ones that sat in the sink overnight with coffee residue. The prewash blast is way more important than people give it credit for, especially if you have hard water like I do. Plus with powder you can adjust the amount based on how dirty the load is, a light rinse cycle gets half the scoop and a greasy baked on lasagna pan gets a little extra. The gel packs are just premeasured convenience that costs double for no real benefit.

Actually the prewash cup on most machines won't hold powder anymore, it just falls out.
