Always thought stopping to help with flat tires was a waste of my lunch break
Then a mom with two kids on a trail got moving because of a five minute fix. Now I keep a patch kit in my car just in case.

Seriously, keeping that patch kit is the move. I learned the hard way that the glue in those little tubes dries out fast if it gets too hot, like in a glove box all summer. Now I just toss the whole kit in my trunk where it's a bit cooler, and I check the date on the glue once a year. It's a tiny thing, but it means the kit actually works when you need it.

Actually, the glove box works better for me since I always forget what's in my trunk. If the kit is out of sight back there, I might not remember I have it when a problem comes up. Quick access matters more than perfect glue storage in my book.

Wow, you two have really thought this through. My car just has old fries and regret.
