Customer brought in a bike with the chain threaded through the seat stays
Some guy rolls into the shop yesterday with his mountain bike, complaining about a weird noise, and I look down to see the chain is literally looped around the rear triangle through the seat stays. I just stared at it for 15 seconds, then explained he'd have to pay for a new chain since it was all kinked up. Has anyone else seen a customer's DIY fix that just made you laugh?

Had a guy bring in a bike with the chain routed through the wrong side of the rear derailleur. He swore it was fine for months. Sometimes you just gotta hand them the new chain and explain that physics doesn't care about their feelings.
