Had a 14 bike tune-up day at the shop in Fort Worth and only one gave me trouble
Every single one came in with clean drivetrains except this one old hybrid where the rear derailleur hanger was bent about 5 degrees and I fought it for 40 minutes before I got the alignment right. Turned out the owner's kid had laid it down on the drive side and never mentioned it. How do you all get customers to actually tell you what happened to the bike before you start?
A bent hanger is a pretty normal find on a used hybrid, especially one a kid has been riding. Sure, getting the story up front saves time, but 40 minutes of straightening is just part of the gig sometimes. Maybe skip the interrogation and just check the hanger first on every bike.
