Had a customer bring in a bike with a seized seatpost after a winter in Duluth
It was a steel frame with an aluminum post, totally stuck. I tried the usual tricks, but nothing moved it. An old timer at the shop told me to heat the seat tube with a heat gun for a full minute, then pour a full can of cola down the tube. The fizz and heat broke the corrosion bond in about an hour. Has anyone else had luck with weird home fixes for seized parts?

My buddy Mark tried that trick with his old truck last winter. He was sure it wouldn't work, but his engine started right up. Totally changed his mind on those weird fixes.
