Had a customer bring in a vintage 10-speed with a seized seatpost that took me 4 hours and a whole can of penetrating oil to finally get free.

I mean, the guy said he'd tried everything himself for a week, but the look on his face when it finally creaked loose was almost worth the sore hands, though I'm still debating if I should have charged more than the flat $60 labor fee for that kind of battle.

Man, that's a win right there. Four hours is a serious fight. I've been there with rusted bolts that just won't budge. That feeling when it finally gives way is the best part of the job, honestly. You definitely earned more than sixty bucks for that kind of time and effort.
