Had a customer last week who made my whole month better

A guy came in with a 1985 Schwinn that had been sitting in his garage for 20 years. He just wanted me to get it rolling again so he could ride with his grandson. I spent about 45 minutes cleaning the rust off the chain and lubing the derailleurs, and when he picked it up he shook my hand and said 'you saved a memory for me.' Stuff like that is why I still love wrenching even on the slow days. Anyone else have a moment where a simple repair meant more to someone than the price tag?

Used to roll my eyes at sappy stuff like this, but yeah, that's nice.

Seems like a lot of drama over a rusty bike chain.
