Rear derailleur hanger snapped mid-climb on the Cedar Lake loop, got it home with a zip tie
Was grinding up the steep pitch past the boat launch at Cedar Lake last Saturday when the hanger on my older Trek just gave out. No spare in the bag, so I zip tied the chain to the stay and coasted the 3 miles back to the lot. Lesson learned. Now I keep two hangers and a derailleur tool in the saddlebag. What do you all pack for hanger fails on remote rides?
