Shoutout to the shop that warned me about those cheap carbon paste tubes
Had a customer's seatpost seize in a carbon frame last week, and I had to choose between forcing it or cutting it out. I went with a slow cut using a Dremel and a fresh blade, which saved the frame but took almost an hour. Anyone have a better method for a totally stuck post?

Cutting it out with a Dremel sounds like the only safe bet when it's that stuck.

Man, a buddy tried to get a seized bolt out of his truck frame. He soaked it in penetrant for a week, heated it, used the biggest breaker bar he had. Nothing. It just rounded off. He finally got a Dremel with a cut-off wheel and sliced the head off in about two minutes. Sometimes you just have to admit defeat and cut your losses.

Oh totally. I read a whole forum thread once where like five mechanics all said the same thing, that sometimes cutting is faster than fighting it (and saves your knuckles).
