Watching a coworker slap on a cassette without checking the freehub body drives me nuts.
This seems like a basic step that stops future problems. Why rush and risk a customer comeback?

Saw a cassette spin freely on a worn HG body last week because someone skipped this. The splines were so rounded out the whole drivetrain had a dead spot. Took twice as long to fix the mess compared to just cleaning and greasing the freehub first. You ever have to replace a whole hub because of that?

FREEHUB body salvageable or CORE toast?

That old Mavic hub in the shop last month was totally seized, but a good soak in solvent freed it up. I've seen plenty where the splines look awful but the hub itself is fine, you just swap the freehub body. Sometimes the damage isn't as deep as it looks.
