Binged all 7 seasons of The Good Place in 10 days with the 1.5x speed trick
I always felt like I was wasting time on slow dialogue scenes until my buddy Dave told me to try watching at 1.5x speed on Netflix. Set it on episode 3 of The Good Place and honestly the jokes still landed fine, just faster. Finished the whole series in 10 days instead of a month. Has anyone else tried this for other shows or does it ruin the pacing for dramas?

My attention span is basically a gnat on caffeine so 1.5x is the only way I can watch anything anymore. Tried it with Better Call Saul once and the dramatic pauses just turned into awkward blinks, not great. But for comedies like The Good Place or Parks and Rec it actually works better because the jokes come faster and you don't have time to overthink them. My record is 4 seasons of Brooklyn 99 in one weekend at 1.5x, felt like a speedrun of laughter. Probably shortens my life expectancy by a few years but whatever, worth it.

Tried the same thing with Community and it actually made the rapid fire jokes hit even harder lol. The only show that didn't work for me was Mindhunter since all those long stares between characters lost their tension at 1.5x. Stick with comedies and you're golden though, especially if you're trying to marathon something before your friends spoil the ending.

Ten days for a 53 episode show at 1.5x speed is still 35 hours, that's not exactly speedrunning.
