Binged The Devil's Hour in one night and the ending wrecked me

Started The Devil's Hour on Amazon Prime around 9pm last Tuesday thinking I'd watch an episode before bed. Six hours later I was still glued to the couch because every episode dropped some new twist that made zero sense until the next one. The part where the kid just sits there staring at the wall while his mom is losing it - that got under my skin bad. Has anyone else gotten completely sucked into a show that turned out way darker than the previews made it look?

Wait, did you catch that his mom is actually the one repeating the day?

That specific moment where the kid just stares at the wall, that got me too. It reminded me of something I've noticed in real life, like how people will zone out on their phones during a serious conversation, or how a coworker of mine will just blankly nod while you're explaining something important, but they're clearly not there. There's this weird pattern where people check out right when things get heavy, almost like they're protecting themselves from something uncomfortable. The show just cranked that up to a supernatural level, but the base feeling of it, that hollow disconnect, is something I've seen in everyday arguments or even in how people ignore bad news until it smacks them in the face.
