Debate: Do cliffhangers make a show better or just frustrate you?
I watched The Bear last month, and man, those season ending cliffhangers had me pacing my living room in Cincinnati. My buddy at the station says cliffhangers are genius because they keep you thinking about the show for days, building up the payoff. But I've got another friend who refuses to start any show until every season is out because she says cliffhangers feel like a cheap trick, not good storytelling. Take From, for example - my wife and I binged two seasons in a week, and that season 2 ending just made us mad, not excited. But then something like Severance pulled off a cliffhanger that actually felt earned and made the wait interesting. So what do you think - are cliffhangers a sign of a great show that trusts its audience, or just lazy writing?

Wondering if we're putting too much thought into this. It's just TV. Sometimes a cliffhanger works, sometimes it doesn't, not everything needs to be some deep artistic statement.
