My buddy talked me into watching a show I swore I'd never like

I told my friend Mike last week that I'd never watch a K-drama, thought they were all just sappy romance stuff. He made me watch the first episode of 'Stranger' with him and I couldn't stop after that. The murder mystery angle hooked me way harder than I expected, and the acting was actually solid. Has anyone else slept on a whole genre of shows based on assumptions?
