My friend's cabin in Vermont ruined my usual show picks

We were up there for a week last fall with terrible internet, so we just watched whatever was on the hard drive they had. It was this old British detective show from the 90s, 'Cracker'. I'd never have clicked on it myself. Now I'm back home and my usual streaming picks feel so safe and boring. Has anyone else had a trip or a place totally change your taste in what you watch?

Totally get that! My parents' house only gets like three channels. Ended up watching a bunch of nature docs last visit, and now I'm weirdly into them.

Nah, I love my usual shows. Getting stuck with some random old thing sounds like a punishment to me.

What was the show actually about? That sounds like a cool way to find something new. Being forced to watch whatever is there can break you out of a rut. My usual picks are all the same kind of thing too. A bad hotel TV once got me into those weird daytime court shows. Now I watch them when I'm sick at home. It's funny how getting stuck with limited choices can shake things up.
