My sister hid the remote for 4 days so we'd finish season 2 and now the TV won't turn on at all

Last Tuesday my sister got so fed up with me checking my phone during episodes that she took the remote to work with her in her lunch bag. We did end up blowing through all 8 episodes of the show she picked, but then the TV sat unplugged during a storm and now it won't power back on no matter what I try. Has anyone else had a TV just quit after a power blip, or did my sister's remote hostage plan actually kill it?
