Overheard my coworker say she binged 'Severance' in one weekend and I felt so seen

I was grabbing coffee in the break room last Tuesday and my coworker Jane said she started Severance at 8pm Friday and didn't stop until Sunday afternoon. It made me think about how some shows just hit different when you devour them fast instead of spacing them out. Has anyone else had a show that felt way better as a binge than a weekly watch?

That "binging turns it into noise" line is exactly why I pace myself now. I learned the hard way with Dark on Netflix - rushed through season 2 in two days and had zero idea what was happening by the end. Now I watch one episode of a show like that every other night, maybe jot down a couple notes if it's twist-heavy. Lets the show breathe and I actually remember what happened.

Hang on real quick, Dark only has 3 seasons total, not 2. But I get your point about spacing it out. I did the same thing with Mr. Robot. Tried to binge season 3 in a weekend and had to rewatch half of it because I kept confusing the Elliot alters. Now I do one episode a night max for anything that's really layered. Lets me sit with it and catch stuff I'd miss otherwise.

Heard her say she binged it in one weekend and felt seen" actually makes me think the opposite. I spaced it out week to week and that slow burn made every twist hit harder. Binging just turns it into noise.
