Rant: Why I think 'The Bear' is way overhyped

Honestly, I gave The Bear a shot because everyone kept saying it's the best show on TV right now. I watched the whole first season waiting for it to click with me but it never did. The constant yelling and kitchen chaos just felt stressful to watch, not entertaining. I get that it's supposed to show how messy restaurant life is, but there's no calm moments to balance it out. The main character Richie annoyed me so much I almost shut it off like six times. Ngl, I learned that just because a show has great reviews doesn't mean I have to like it. Has anyone else felt like they're missing something with this show?

thing is, I actually kind of get it. some shows take a while to find their footing, you know? but a whole season is a lot of hours to give something that isn't hitting. I usually tap out after three episodes if I'm not feeling it, life's too short. maybe it was more of a comfort watch thing, putting it on in the background while doing other stuff. still, props for sticking with it that long, I don't have that kind of patience myself.

Yeah that's basically how I approach most things now. Three strikes and you're out for me too. It's like dating, you know? If it doesn't click after a few dates, forcing it for months is just gonna make you more annoyed.
