Spent $60 on a 4K blu-ray box set and it totally changed how I watch shows
I always thought streaming was fine until I popped in the first disc and saw the difference in quality and the extra behind-the-scenes stuff. Does anyone else find that buying physical copies makes you appreciate a show more?

That "extra behind-the-scenes stuff" is exactly why I still buy box sets. My wife rolls her eyes because I have a shelf full of them, but she was the one who asked to watch the director commentary on some old sci-fi show and now she's hooked too. It's like getting a whole new layer of the show you never noticed before.

You ever look at your shelf of box sets and realize it's basically a shrine to your own past obsessions? I do that all the time with my DVD collection. My friends give me grief about it, but then they come over and we watch the blooper reel for some comedy and suddenly they're asking where I got the set. It's funny how those extras turn a one-time show into something you keep coming back to. I've got a box set of a 90s drama where the cast commentary is literally just them roasting each other for two hours. Beats most new shows that come out now.

That "whole new layer" thing is spot on. I've got a box set of a 90s drama where the cast commentary is literally just them roasting each other for two hours, and it beats most new shows that come out now.
