That week I binged The Bear in 3 days and my heart rate still hasn't recovered

Last Tuesday I started The Bear on Hulu thinking it would be a light kitchen show. By Thursday night I had watched 18 episodes and my blood pressure was through the roof. Every scene of Richie screaming at people or Syd flipping out gave me actual anxiety. I sat on my couch for two hours after the season 2 finale just staring at the wall. Has anyone else had a show mess with your head like that?

Hang on, you sat there for two hours just staring at the wall after the finale? That is a whole new level of being wrecked by a show. I binged it in four days, not three, but man I felt like I needed a Xanax by episode two. That kitchen pressure cooker stuff is way too real, especially the way they show the tickets printing nonstop. I had to pause it and walk my dog just to calm down after the episode where Richie and Carmy had that huge fight in the fridge. So yeah, I totally get the staring at the wall thing, that show is like a panic attack in a box.

Tbh a buddy of mine did the exact same thing after he finished it. He texted me at like 1am saying he just sat on his couch in the dark for an hour replaying the whole season in his head. He told me his hands were actually shaking from the tension of that finale. I honestly think that show messes with your nervous system in a way most TV doesn't, like you need to sit still afterwards just to let your heartbeat go back to normal.

Watched it with my cousin and she had to take a break halfway through the season because she said her shoulders were up by her ears from tension. @drew_bennett24 nailed it with the "panic attack in a box" thing, I seriously thought I was the only one who felt physically wrecked after watching. The way they film those close-ups of people sweating in the kitchen just hits different than most shows where you can kinda space out during a scene.
